Site Name: Johannesburg West Street Posted Date: Feb 3 2025 Job Purpose: To lead and direct Business Unit Sales and Marketing for the Innovative Vaccines Business Unit for GSK South Africa. Accountable for the development and execution of the innovative vaccines business in South Africa including the relationship management, business strategy development and delivery as well as the compliance of the business, managing the relationship between GSK and its 3rd party commercial partner in South Africa. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for developing and execution of Marketing & Sales strategies for delivering growth and profit targets and ensuring achievement of results. Keep abreast of industry & market dynamics in South Africa, and anticipate, analyze and identify current and future market opportunities and their potential impact on GSK. Creating innovative marketing strategies and long-term solutions for GSK commercial success by applying broad technical, business and commercial knowledge. Ensure effective implementation of assigned initiatives and delivery of assigned business case. Provide direction and insight to the 3rd party commercial partner marketing team to ensure that effective product strategies are locally developed and executed, aligned to GSK corporate objectives. (Assure compliance and adherence to highest ethical standards and consistent communication of ethical image and position). Partner with the 3rd party commercial partner to oversee execution of strategy by the sales teams and set challenging sales targets for longer term portfolio growth in line with strategic objectives. Develop, maintain and improve business relations with key customers. Establish, coordinate & track 3rd party commercial partner performance against their business plan (targets, metrics/KPI’s), swiftly responding to emerging issues, taking timely corrective actions, and escalating issues when necessary. Maintain complete familiarity with all competitive products in market; their promotion, positioning, pricing, clinical data, etc. Liaison with departmental heads, giving timely inputs to meet organizational objectives. To ensure smooth execution of cross functional projects, by maintaining close liaison with both partner-led (Marketing, Sales) and GSK-led functions (Area VML & global brand leads, SA LOC Medical, Regulatory, Quality, Supply, Finance, Legal & Compliance). Key Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Management (Business / Sales / Marketing), Life Sciences, Pharmacy 6 - 8 years of Commercial (Sales and Marketing) experience Preferred Requirements: · In depth knowledge and demonstrated ability to lead commercial (Sales/Marketing) teams · In depth knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry in South Africa along with familiarity with global trends of the pharma industry · Considerable knowledge of marketing products or services · Incisive analytical and strategic skills · Strong communication (written and oral) skills · Strong Commercial / Financial acumen · Interaction with and alignment across key business partners including finance, legal, compliance, GMS, regulatory, PV / safety, medical, therapy leads etc · Pricing & Market Access, Commercial Excellence and Capability, Route to Market/Commercial Trade Channel Team experience Closing Date: 17th February 2025 Why GSK?
