As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will join Global ESX Infrastructure SRE team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks and leverage your knowledge of programming and infrastructure automation to affect change. Job responsibilities
Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems Collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals Contribute to the development and maintenance of knowledge base articles, technical guides, and support documentation. Share knowledge and expertise with team members to enhance overall team performance. Engage with customers to understand their issues and provide guidance on best practices for VCF deployment and management & drive mitigation/RCA to help in problem management and respond to customer inquiries and support requests in a timely and professional manner. Participate in training and certification programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge. Stay up-to-date with the latest VMware technologies, VCF updates, and AI/ML/LLM/SLM or any new relevant IT industry trends.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments Expertise in VMware product and infrastructure support with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge Experience in Systems and Application monitoring systems (Grafana, Splunk etc) and instrumentation. Familiar with Agile development process and automated testing. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to VMware VCF environments(v4+)including software, hardware, and configuration problems. Strong troubleshooting background with VMware vCenter (v7.0+). Expertise in VMware NSX(T) troubleshooting and strong networking background, with good knowledge of related protocols and technologies (e.g. BGP, VRF, MPLS, IP, TCP, UDP), as applied to a data center context. Experienced as a VMware ESXi system engineer in an enterprise class server hardware environment(HPE/Dell/Lenovo) with VMware vSAN. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven experience in supporting VMware environments, possibly with a focus on AI and ML integration. VMware VCF products certifications. Knowledge of risk and controls landscape, ensuring company-wide standards are met.
