  As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Mainframe and Midrange (MMC) Team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, installing, configuring, and supporting a highly resilient and stable Mainframe network infrastructure. You will employ automated scripting where feasible and use your Mainframe Networking sysprog skills. You will have the opportunity to work with software-promoten systems management using various scripting languages and develop software systems to solve complex problems through automation tools. You will also get to work with RESTful APIs using Swagger (or similar framework), and be part of a team that is passionate about technology and open to new ideas and ways to manage Mainframe infrastructure software.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments General knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and moderate proficiency in relevant scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.) Develop Mainframe Network Toolkits with the help of NetMaster, NetView, Rexx & CLISTS Maintain Mainframe Network Components: TCP/IP including DVIPA & DDVIPA configurations, IPSEC, IPFILTER, Intrusion Detection Services (IDS), Enterprise Extender (EE), SNA, VTAM, APPN, OSA connectivity interface to the Core Provide logical connectivity between applications and mainframe subsystems Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures Support TCP/IP encryption methods (IPSEC, AT-TLS, and TLS) and monitoring of protocols and cyphers aligned to company policies Have knowledge on Network Monitoring tools (Omegamon, Mainview, Mainframe Tracing, Sniffers) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and basic programming languages or database management systems  Intermediate understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design Ability to think creatively to deliver solutions through continuous improvement
