Infrastructure Engineer I, Application Support

As an Infrastructure Engineer I, Application Support at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief Technology Office (CTO) - Identity & Access Management team, you apply baseline technical knowledge to assignments aligned to you. The assignments may consist of parts of a single technical area, application, software, or technical methodology within the infrastructure engineering discipline.

Job responsibilities:

Takes detailed directions from team leaders to analyze data and systems and conduct problem solving Supports discussions with team and peers on technical matters relating to platforms, servers, and networks Uses JPMorgan Chase practices, procedures, and operating standards to guide decisions with regular oversight Considers baseline upstream/downstream system and technical implications Tackles routine technical tasks and issues such as collecting, analyzing, and monitoring data in test and production Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Develops solution to automate manual & operational task Contributes to root cause analysis and post-mortem to identify and eliminate gaps and improve service Manages the availability, performance, incident & change management Engages with the engineering team throughout the product/application life cycle to help build for reliability

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related disciplines Minimum 1 year of experience in a support and/or development role Baseline knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling and resilience performance assessments Ability to execute basic solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting Ability to articulate technical and non-technical information and understand when to escalate issues Basic knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and basic programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.) Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure Interest about modern technologies and familiarity with industry-wide technology trends and best practices Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals Experience with Public Cloud offering related to compute, storage, networking, messaging, automation (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.) and data Ability to provide occasional weekend support as part of the shift rotation (part of the global team who provide 24x7x365 coverage)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Experience with Agile and full software development life cycle disciplines Experience with CI/CD pipeline and testing framework Familiarity with AWS Cloud  Experience with Application support activities in Monitoring and troubleshooting the issues Experience with Infrastructure activities like application setup and maintain across multiple datacenters Experience with system administration in Linux and/or Windows platforms Experience supporting End-User issues via ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
