Job Description:

This role would ideally suit a candidate with previous SOC or hands-on security technology experience in anti-virus, IPS, SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), EDR and web content filtering.

What will you do?

Monitoring of security events with subsequent classification and investigation.Identify, document, escalate and manage security events to support the established Incident Management and CSIRT processes.Perform initial technical investigation on confirmed threats and other suspicious activity using a variety of endpoint and network tools and technologies.Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours pager support for escalations and incidents.

What will you need to succeed?

University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, mathematics, engineering, or comparable professional education/training in a field relevant to IT Security.Familiarity with various Operating Systems, IDS, SIEM, EDR and other tools and technologiesBasic Familiarity with the tools and techniques commonly used by malicious actors including vulnerability scanners, malware, ETC.Knowledge/Familiarity of incident response life cycle and industry standards.Strong soft skillsProfessional designation relating to Information Security (CompTIA Security+, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF)) is an advantage but not mandatory.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
