Reporting to the Provincial Director, BC Patient Safety & Learning System (BC PSLS) the Application Support & Test Analyst performs technical quality assurance on operational and project functions related to the development, deployment and sustainment of BC PSLS applications. The Analyst develops, facilitates and completes a wide variety of test cases and test scripts and carries out timely and efficient testing of applications within the BC PSLS portfolio. The Analyst works collaboratively with all members of the BC PSLS team and with technical professionals at both the health authority and provincial levels in the planning, development and execution of unit, integrated and end-to-end system testing. The Analyst provides feedback on existing test processes, documents issues and defects and provides periodic reports on overall testing progress to the BC PSLS team. The Analyst provides first-level support to BC PSLS Coordinators and other advanced users from all BC health authorities on the use of BC PSLS core software and related tools. The Analyst role includes application trouble-shooting, participation in the coordination of upgrades and patches, configuration tasks, forms maintenance, documentation and feedback.

Qualifications
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Health Information Science or a related field, plus three (3) years recent related experience in QA, testing, IT system support, IT help desk/user support or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing. Experience with help desk or customer support work. Thorough, detail-oriented and logical approach to testing. Experience with producing test plans and test scripts. Experience working closely with technical and business analysts. Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task. Knowledge of the BC health authority environment. Accurate and detail-oriented. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of SQL, UML, XML, PHP, HTML and Web Services. Experience working with personal computers and MS Office applications, particularly MS Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint. Experience with the Datix application, FootPrints, BluePrints and/or SAP/Business Objects Edge suite of products would be an asset.

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time - Until return of incumbent
Salary Range: $67,861 - $97,550 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
