We are actively seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Information Assurance Professional to join our team in a dynamic Department of Defense (DoD) environment. As a Journeyman Information Assurance Professional, you will be a key player in ensuring the security and compliance of our information systems. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the cybersecurity efforts within the framework of the DoD.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Compliance Management: Oversee the implementation of security controls to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, guidelines, and standards. Lead the development and execution of Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) to address identified vulnerabilities and shortcomings. Cybersecurity Tools: Expertise in the utilization and management of critical DoD cybersecurity tools, including: Host-Based Security System (HBSS) for comprehensive endpoint security. Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability assessment and configuration management. Implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for system hardening. eMASS and Documentation: Utilize the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for efficient management of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and documentation. Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date cybersecurity documentation and artifacts. Incident Response: Lead and participate in incident response activities, including the identification, containment, eradication, and recovery phases of security incidents. Contribute to the development and refinement of incident response plans. Training and Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members. Contribute to the development and delivery of cybersecurity training programs. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and senior cybersecurity professionals to address complex cybersecurity challenges. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to provide updates on cybersecurity initiatives and projects. Incident Response and Threat Management: Support incident response efforts in the event of a cybersecurity incident or breach. Contribute to incident response plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate emerging risks.
