The CI Team, with colleagues at Pfizer’s New York Headquarters and a global Research and Analysis team, includes subject-matter experts from a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences. Together we collaborate to provide Pfizer leadership with competitive assessments curated and crystalized into actionable insights that enable industry-leading, enterprise-focused decision-making for early- and late-stage pipeline assets across Pfizer’s Business Innovation, R&D (ORD and PRD), Digital, and commercial organizations.
The Industry Insights Senior Associate with a focus on, but not limited to, Pfizer’s Oncology pipeline, will work in close collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams and senior leaders to represent and align on a unified view of the external micro and macro business environment within or ahead of internal discussions, business planning, key processes, and decision-making forums.
ROLE SUMMARY
In partnership with US, EU and China-based team members, the Industry Insights Senior Associate, will evaluate the pharmaceutical micro and macro business environment to develop strategic insights and analyses for key internal discussions, business planning and decision-making forums for pipeline, business development (BD), and category initiatives.
The Senior Associate will perform secondary research, leveraging multiple sources of publicly-disclosed information (databases, regulatory filings, company disclosures, industry reports, analyst commentary, etc.) to support the identification and communication of industry, company, therapeutic area and candidate-level updates across the external environment, create clinical data and trial comparisons for known external pipeline candidates, forecast external candidate milestones and timelines, and prepare asset and company deep dives.
This individual will partner with local and global teams across Pfizer’s commercial development and business development functions and interact with representatives from other cross-functional partners to help define company, category and candidate specific strategies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate independently under guidance from the External Insights Guide and the Category DirectorsExecute internal secondary research, including monitoring, analysis and reporting of the external preclinical, clinical and commercial landscape, as well as clinical data and timelines in areas aligned to Pfizer’s research, development and commercial areas of focusMonitor industry activities, pipeline and product progression, financial forecasts, and BD projects, and provide strategic insights to senior leaders across PfizerAct as a thought partner with commercial development, BD and R&D teams by providing analyses and insights that inform program development and investment decisionsMaintain and enhance the in-house knowledge management system, ensuring timely updates and accurate tagging of research outputsMentor junior team members, providing guidance on research methodologies and best practicesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of three years of experience working in strategy, consulting or related roles in healthcare/pharmaAdvanced life science degree preferred (Minimum MSc) with a preference for advanced degree holders who have a focus in business, medicine, or scienceInterest and/or expertise in therapeutic and disease areas aligned to Pfizer’s research and development programsBroad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, global healthcare environment as well as multinational and local pharmaceutical companiesService-oriented, highly collaborative, self-motivated, curious, and results-oriented#LI-PFE
