Sales Support Manager - Technical Sales
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role you will serve as the Industry Application Engineer (IAE) for ABB’s Electrification business within the Automotive and Battery Industries along with our NASCAR partnership. You will provide technical support to consulting engineers, end users, EPCs, and design-build customers, helping to ensure ABB products and solutions are preferred or accepted in project specifications. Additionally, you will be the primary technical support for the NASCAR account.You will collaborate closely with the local sales team and the NASCAR team and should possess expertise in applying MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, and arc flash mitigation technologies.This role will be able to work remotely (#LI-Remote) and requires the ability to travel an estimated 50%.You will be mainly accountable for:- Developing and implementing technical solutions for customer applications in the Automotive, Battery and NASCAR Partnership domain.- Aligning the promotional strategy and activities plan with the sales strategy and sales activities plan.- Ensuring that the Promotions team supports the Sales organization by providing on-time and quality technical support and technical training to the target audience resulting in high customer satisfaction.- Creating business opportunities by providing support and fostering collaborations with key decision-makers, both within buying and non-buying segments.- Providing support to customers, particularly consultants, engineering firms, and architect offices, in project development and technical problem- solving.Our team dynamics:You will join a new, growing team, where you will be able to thrive and make your mark on ABB.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s degree in Engineering. A Master’s degree is a plus.12+ years of experience in a technical support or application engineering role within the electrical industry.Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and applications.Previous experience in a customer facing role. Proficient in the battery/automotive manufacturing industry.Ability to travel, estimated 50% of timeCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
