Position Summary

The US Industry Affairs Lead will focus primarily on National Grower Organizations, Feed Grains, and other commodities to oversee Corteva Agriscience’s strategic engagement with corn, sorghum, and wheat industry stakeholders, as well as grower organizations, and related agriculture advocacy bodies. This role develops and maintains high-impact partnerships with key commodity organizations such as the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), National Sorghum Producers (NSP), and National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG), as well as national grower organizations like the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) and National Farmers Union (NFU). This is a vital role in advancing Corteva’s interests in farm commodity sectors by building coalitions, driving aligned industry initiatives, and advocating for policies that support growth, innovation, and sustainability in agriculture.

Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow!

Relationship Management and Stakeholder Engagement

Serves as Corteva’s lead representative for national and regional corn and cotton associations, including NCGA, NSP, NAWG, and related stakeholder groups.Cultivates productive partnerships with large grower organizations, such as AFBF and NFU, and other influential bodies within the agricultural sector.

Industry and Policy Advocacy

Represents Corteva in advocacy efforts addressing policy, regulatory, and market issues affecting the corn and cotton industries.Engages with industry and government partners to promote Corteva’s priorities on trade, environmental sustainability, agricultural innovation, and farm policy, with a special focus on issues unique to corn and cotton production.

Program and Project Leadership

Leads cross-functional collaborations to align Corteva’s business and policy strategies with the needs of the corn and cotton industries, ensuring consistent, high-quality engagement with associations and grower groups.Oversees projects and initiatives to enhance Corteva’s visibility and leadership in the corn wheat, and cotton markets, including sponsorships, educational programs, and joint industry campaigns.Leads and supports ad-hoc government affairs projects and initiatives.

Market and Industry Development

Identifies and advances opportunities for Corteva to support and expand the corn and cotton sectors, aligning with industry needs and market developments.Provides insights on emerging trends and advocate for initiatives that drive sector growth, particularly in areas like sustainability, export market access, and advanced crop technology.

Experience and Education – What you'll bring to the table!

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Public Policy, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.10+ years of experience in agriculture, government affairs, industry relations, or a related field. Experience with corn and cotton markets preferred.Combination of education + experience will also be considered in lieu of 10+ years' experience.

Skills & Competencies

Deep knowledge and understanding of the corn and cotton industries, including trade associations, grower organizations, and regulatory landscape.Proven ability to manage key relationships, collaborate with stakeholders, navigate complex industry issues, and drive coalition-building.Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence, engage, and consult with diverse stakeholder groups.Strategic mindset with a results-driven approach to achieving advocacy and industry goals.Ability to navigate challenging opportunities to meet objectives and deadlines; solves complex problems with minimal guidance.

Reports to: Head of US Government and Industry Affairs.

Travel: This position does travel on a fairly regular basis.
