GENERAL PURPOSE

Under limited supervision performs routine preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on the industrial vehicle fleet. Must troubleshoot all systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic as it relates to the vehicles.Performs preventative, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance on vehicle batteries and chargers.Modifies vehicle to meet new standards while adhering to safety regulations.Works collaboratively with operations and maintenance groups to ensure a high level of customer service.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Actively participate and contribute to a positive team environment.Adhere to all safety guidelines for the company and relating to the role of industrial vehicles.Creates and completes work orders, accurately documents modifications, repairs and maintenance on the industrial vehicle fleet while adhering to maintenance standards.Identifies and completes a schedule of work orders, using a computer system to prioritize and close out work.Maintain a valid drivers license and industrial vehicle license.Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on the industrial fleet including batteries and charging systems.Successfully complete and implement learnings from vendor led trainings.Troubleshoots and performs corrective maintenance on broken industrial vehicles.Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.Additional Essential Functions

Education/Experience

Education/Experience - Not ParsedOne of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency2-3 years prior experience in a vehicle maintenance position.


Licenses and Certifications / Skills and Abilities

Must have a valid driver license.Skills and AbilitiesMust have or be able to obtain a Herman Miller Inc. fork lift, aerial lift, personnel carrier and other equipment license, as required.Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.Must have the ability to read basic schematic plumbing and electrical prints and operation/repair manuals as related to this position.Familiarity with and fluent in the safe operation of small power hand tools.Basic computer skills and knowledge in Lotus Notes and Internet navigation.Must be available for regular scheduled weekend duty call-in service calls.Must be able to perform all essential functions of this position with or without accommodations.Additional Skills and Abilities
