Industrial Painter
**Hello! We are currently hiring for Industrial Painters here in Peoria, AZ!** **Job Description** As a Foreman, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring that all tasks are prioritized, resources are organized, and time is efficiently managed. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition, and communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution. **Responsibilities** + Create and organize a work plan for each day, ensuring it is set up and laid out by the end of the previous work day. + Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping the blast bay clean and ensuring curtains are closed. + Clean the blast booth daily to meet Air Quality Department standards. + Maintain all sandblasting equipment, performing regular inspections and coordinating repairs or replacements as needed. + Understand project specifications and ensure accurate execution of sandblasting tasks. + Maintain an accurate piece count of all items being sandblasted and track time spent on each job for project management and billing purposes. + Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other relevant personnel. + Use a wet film thickness (WFT) gauge for coating applications. + Inspect and prepare surfaces by removing old paint, dirt, or debris, and repairing imperfections. + Apply primer, paint, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even coverage. + Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment, and dispose of waste materials according to regulations. + Stay updated on industry trends and participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of experience in painting and sandblasting. + 1+ years of experience in cementitious waterproofing coatings. + Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and confined space safety. + Experience with industrial tanks, carbon steel water tank reservoirs, and reclamation facilities. + Ability to use hand tools such as trowels and spray guns. + Familiarity with SSPC-Surface Preparation and NACE Abrasive standards. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to identify and achieve SP-1,2,3,5,6,7,10,11,13,15 standards. + Capability to blast 150 sq/ft to an SP-10 in 1 hour. + Knowledge of checking nozzle circumference for wear and performing preventative maintenance checks on blast hoses. + Experience troubleshooting and repairing field equipment. + Ability to coat 1000 sqft with 2% or less rework in 1 hour. + Experience setting up, tearing down, and cleaning paint application equipment. + Knowledge of airless spray tips, mixing coatings, and operating plural machines. + Ability to identify and correct coating defects, measure WFT using a wet film gauge, and apply coatings correctly. **Why Work Here?** We offer excellent benefits, opportunities for growth, and a healthy backlog of work. The work environment includes heavy industrial facilities, heights, and confined spaces with access points as small as 24 inches. Tools required include crescent wrenches, hammers, pliers, wire cutters, screwdrivers, and channel locks. PPS Coatings provides necessary PPE and tools, ensuring safety and proper equipment maintenance. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.50/hr.
