Industrial Engineer

Objectives:

This position is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing Manufacturing and Service Operations to drive significant improvement in key performance indicators by utilizing tools found in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Experimentation and data collection will be used to identify opportunities to reduce waste and streamline processes. Outputs must meet the necessary functional, technical, and regulatory compliance standards, while maintaining the highest quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, be proficient in programming languages relevant to automation, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential, as is the ability to stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. This position offers the opportunity to significantly impact product quality and innovation within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Control: Implement quality control procedures to ensure highest quality products while achieving cell Takt Time; Collaborate with quality teams to ensure products meet quality standards and identify root causes when issues surface. Lean manufacturing practices: Apply Lean principles to eliminate waste and improve overall efficiency within the production process. Process analysis: Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and areas for improvement utilizing various tools such as Value Stream Mapping, time studies, data collection and Gemba observation. Data analysis: Collect, analyze and present data to support decision-making regarding trends, areas for improvement and experimentation. Design and implementation: Develop new production processes, layouts, and work methods to optimize flow and resource utilization. Project management: Lead improvement projects from initiation to implementation, including project planning, resource allocation and stakeholder communication. Collaboration: Work with engineering, operations, quality control, management, and external partners to identify and integrate improvements across the organization Training and development: Create training documentation and conduct training to supervisors and/or line operators on new processes and procedures. Cost optimization: Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction through waste reduction, material management, labor efficiency, equipment utilization and automation. Equipment selection and evaluation: Evaluate new equipment, technology, and automation to improve production capabilities. Facility layout design: Planning and designing the layout of manufacturing facilities to maximize space utilization, production flow, equipment placement, material handling and ergonomics.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering or related engineering discipline 0 - 3 years of experience in equivalent field Experience in a manufacturing environment Proficient with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma tools Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Possess computer & analytic skills to function effectively. Ability to solder surface mount and through-hole components Ability to create or follow assembly procedures to build test equipment and fixtures

Qualifications Strongly Preferred:

Electro-mechanical device verification/validation testing Hardware electrical test and verification capability Experience with regulatory compliance  Experience in embedded software/firmware Gas detection equipment experience Basic operational knowledge of Oracle, Salesforce, JIRA and Windchill

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 65,100.00 - 120,900.00
