Profile Description:
Knoll is looking for an industrial electrician to work jn the facilities department. This individual wilt be part of an interdisciplinary team charged with general upkeep and maintenance of a site containing both manufacturing and corporate offices. The successful candidate will have experience working with electrical systems in industrial settings and must be self-driven to provide a high level of service in a safe manner.
Job Duties:
Maintain and repair facility lighting and electrical systems.
Operation of backup power generators.
Assist in planning repairs and installations within the facility.
Troubleshoot electrical equipment including but not limited to motors, starters, VFDs, relays, lighting controls, etc.
Installation of new equipment and circuits:
Properly size wire, conduit, and breakers
Spec disconnects, fuses and starters
Plan, organize, and perform assigned tasks in sequence with minimum supervision & direction.
Identify and report hazards and fulfill all Health & Safety requirements including but not limited to LOTO, confined space entry, working at heights, etc. Follow all Knoll safety policies and procedures.
Become an active participant & contributor to the continuous improvement process at Knoll.
Must be willing to cross-train in various areas of the facilities department as required.
Ability to work in a multi-shift environment including flexible hours and occasional weekends.
Follow Knoll environmental practices including the proper handling of waste streams (used electronics, lamps, batteries)
Participate in wanted removal.
Required Skills:
High School diploma or equivalent
Able to communicate in English (both oral and written)
Education and/or experience in industrial electrical environments
Understanding of single and three phase distribution networks up to 480V
General knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code)
Ability to read and follow electrical diagrams, interpret blueprints, manual and technical data Enjoys working in a team environment
Able to take the initiative to solve problems, where appropriate
Required Experience:
Minimum 5-8 years of related experience
Experience in a manufacturing plant environment
