Industrial Designer
Purpose:

This role will be working directly with the Kraus product development team while within a semi-autonomous studio here at Delta HQ with support available from ID, R&D, and Front End research teams, making for a creative blend of industrial designers, electrical, mechanical and chemical (think finishes) engineers, program managers and researchers.

This role will be onsite in our Carmel, Indiana office.

Responsibilities:Solving product-related design and styling problems in creative, timely, and efficient waysPreparing sketches, models, and renderings of innovative product designsCreate designs by integrating ideas from several conceptual sourcesClearly communicating ideas through visual, written, and verbal formDetermining materials, construction, mechanisms, form, color, surface finish in a manner consistent with established manufacturing processesCommunicating with PD, marketing team, and occasionally suppliers to accurately complete design assignmentsParticipate and contribute ideas and concepts in ideation/brainstorming sessionsStay informed of current industry trendsAssist in product review meetings and presentationsCreate initial design briefs with user stories to be further reviewed and vettedAttend relevant trade shows and fairs to keep attuned to industry trendsContribute to maintaining design quality standards

Education & Experience:BA/BS or BFA in Industrial Design or Furniture DesignMinimum 2+ years of consumer product and/or furniture design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePortfolio showcasing exceptional proficiency in industrial designExperience in translating user needs and research insights into great product conceptsAdvanced sketching and rendering skillsAbility to convert abstract ideas into digital representations using 2D and 3D softwareProficiency with 3D modeling computer systems (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.) , Adobe CS (Illustrator and Photoshop), MS Office Suite (ppt, excel, word)Proficiency in KeyShot is useful, but not a necessityExcellent visual, verbal, and written communication skillsFundamental understanding of basic materials and manufacturing processes
