OVERVIEW

The Indirect Tax Accountant is responsible for accurately preparing real estate and personal property tax budgets, quarterly adjustments, monthly reconciliations, accruals and property tax returns. They also provide assistance to the sales & use tax department team members in all areas of sales & use tax.

JOB DUTIESPrepares the real estate and personal property tax budgets and quarterly adjustments.Provides the monthly real estate and personal property tax accruals and reconciliation to the general ledger.Analyzes assessment notices on real and personal property to determine any changes to the budget.Prepares personal property tax returns and assists with property tax audits.Acquires knowledge of property tax jurisdictions throughout the country including protest, appeal, to assist with the budget process.Handles questions and resolutions of property tax-related issues.Prepares sales & use tax returns.Assists the sales & use tax department with tax audits or other functions.Researches and stays abreast of tax law and internal policy and procedural changes to minimize tax liability.Other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Required)2 years tax experience in public accounting or equivalentAbility to handle multiple competing high priority tasksAdvanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to use email and internetBasic knowledge of tax concepts in a multi-entity/multi-state structureExcellent analytical and organizational skillsGeneral knowledge of fixed asset and tax return softwareStrong attention to detail
