The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to oversee indirect spend, offering an exciting and challenging career opportunity. The role involves setting strategic direction and executing indirect service initiatives primarily in the European region.
This role can be located in Czech Republic or Poland with possibility of fully remote work.
Responsibilities:
Indirect Services and Materials category management, European or Global, as assigned.
Accountable for approx. $40 mil. spend p.a.
Driving cost savings and spend reduction initiatives.
Productivity & process improvement.
Establish and maintain processes, structure, governance and templates for sustainable management of the category area.
Accountable for reporting and early escalations to Avantor leadership team.
Proactively identifies productivity projects and drives to success by developing the sourcing strategies.
Provides structured work outcomes, keep clear communication and regularly share the project and process documentation.
Education:
BSc Degree (MSc preferred)
Project Management/Procurement certification (desired)
Background/track record:
5 years + of International sourcing of indirect materials & services experience
Strategic category management in diverse indirect spend areas.
Proven spend management track record.
International company or global corporation work experience in a matrix organization
Capabilities/success factors:
Fluent in English
Effective stakeholder and inter-personnel relationship management
Project management, extracting essential information out of complex projects and leads them; managing & executing complex projects.
“Can do” mindset.
Spend control and cost savings/avoidance delivery.
Contracting and contract management
Efficient approach, eliminating waste and mitigating gaps within the processes, use problem-solving methodology through ABS system.
Organizing own activities, multi-tasking, and flexible to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with long-term projects and strategic initiatives.
Utilize the existing tools for clear communication, visibility, and project/process documentation (Microsoft platform: Teams, SharePoint, Project, Visio, Forms, etc.)
Team leader & player capabilities
Must be able to work independently and remotely as the work environment is preferably a home office.
Willingness to travel internationally as required.
