SUMMARY

The Indirect Funding Specialist I reports to the Indirect Loan Servicing Team Lead. This role is responsible for verifying and ensuring that the required loan documents have been received and are properly executed, and for validating disbursement prior to the disbursement of Loan Funds to the Dealer. This position is responsible for executing funding and meeting turn time and accuracy requirements dictated by established service level agreements. The Indirect Funding Specialist also performs a variety of other loan processing duties including processing Indirect credit applications, maintaining loan documentation, posting of payments and loan servicing. The Funding Specialist may work closely with the Dealer, Loan Officer, Operations Specialists or external third-party providers for Loan Servicing activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulatory guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.

Reviews the scanned documents to verify receipt, accuracy, and proper execution of loan documents provided by the Dealer. Work with Dealer personnel and Sales Reps to facilitate the funding of loans and obtain missing information needed to meet funding policies & procedures.Verifies that the Funding/Disbursement data contained in the Loan Origination System are complete and accurate while adhering to policy and procedures.Upload loan/disbursement file based on the closing instructions.Answer phone and respond to customer/dealer inquiries, requests, and issues.Perform loan maintenance as required to maintain loan and customer records.Assists internal lending personnel with questions and provides information as necessary.Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the completeness, accuracy and turn time standards per established service level agreements.Image and validate scan quality of all loan documentation and any supporting maintenance documentation.Review policy & procedures.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 1-2 years previous banking experience preferred. Personal computer and Word/Excel software experience is required. 2 years data entry/ 10 key with accuracy is a must. Strong interpersonal communication skills are required. Ability to handle detailed work in a busy atmosphere with minimum supervision is required.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong personal computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook; self-starter and works with minimal direction; good verbal and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills and team orientation; Ability to meet deadlines; ability to appropriately escalate issues requiring problem solving and decision making.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, interpret and apply lending laws and regulations related to the quality of loan operations servicing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Accepts shared ownership and accountability for results.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, see, stand, walk & use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
