About Risk Management Services (RMS) Team in GDS:
Risk Management is an internal function within EY, responsible for protecting the organization from the risks that may
arise from its professional practice. The team works closely with all parts of the organization to identify and manage risks
providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy, security issues
as well as dealing with claims and any queries regarding ethics. The GDS RMS Team enjoys good visibility within the global
EY RMS community and has been involved in development of some essential RMS processes. Established in 2007, the
RMS team is rapidly growing as a Center of Excellence for standardized quality and compliance activities. With a current
staff of 1400+ people, the team collaborates globally and contributes to key RMS processes.
Independence is a sub-group within RMS and is a fundamental concept in the audit profession, ensuring auditors are free
from conflicting interests that could compromise unbiased decision-making. EY emphasizes maintaining independence
to uphold objectivity, integrity, and impartiality in all dealings with clients. The Independence team within RMS works
with Audit engagement teams and Country Independence teams across the globe to Enable EY in meeting its global and
local compliance responsibilities and to help our client-facing teams in delivering quality and exceptional client service.
GDS Independence team offers a comprehensive suite of services is provided to support firm level independence like
Establishing & maintaining independence, Data integration & reconciliation. The team also offers a widespread range of
services at global and regional level related to personal independence compliance testing and monitoring procedures,
and reporting assistance matters, etc.

Job Description:
► The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the GDS RMS Independence Team in Manila, serving
multiple customer groups & stakeholders across different EY geographies.
► He/she will be responsible for overall service delivery including team’s productivity, efficiency & quality of
service.
► Other responsibilities include onboarding new customer groups, meeting the financial and operations plan each
month/quarter, leading business transformation initiatives, supporting billing processes for end clients, and
performance management cum development of the team members.
Key job responsibilities:
o Collaborate with the RMS (Manila) Philippines Location Leader and GDS Independence Group Leader to develop
strategic and tactical plans that align with the desired business objectives of Independence, ensuring effective
execution and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
o Be abreast of emerging knowledge, trends and lessons learned. Creates and delivers presentations to
communicate new regulatory landscapes and resulting impacts to engagement teams and Independence team
members.
o Cultivate strong relationships with diverse customer groups and stakeholders across various EY geographies to
ensure exceptional support and client satisfaction.
o Actively manage the client’s expectation through setting up a robust client management framework
o Address & resolve service delivery issues / escalations
o Nurture the professional growth and development of team members through effective performance
management and mentoring.
o Collaborate closely with RMS leadership in identifying and acquiring top-notch resources to augment team
capabilities.
o Contribute to shaping the organizational strategy, leveraging insights and expertise to drive RMS success and
growth within the global EY landscape.
Skills and attributes for success:
Service Delivery:
• Build domain expertise in engagement support processes, coordinating across diverse customers and geographies.
• Develop knowledge of EY Global / US SEC independence policies to support various audit client types.
• Understand EY & Regulator's audit client definitions and associated restrictions.
• Consult with Area Independence Teams to facilitate timely sign-off on independence work programs.
• Manage customer outreach and identify opportunities to enhance existing processes.
Client Management:
• Address and resolve service delivery issues and escalations.
• Meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) effectively.
• Manage client expectations through a robust client management framework.
People Management:
• Manage team members' performance, set goals, assess performance, and provide feedback.
• Ensure adherence to work-flow protocol and tools.
• Assist in the hiring process, while efficiently coordinating training schedules for team members, and actively provide
coaching and mentoring to foster their professional development.
• Recommend training requirements to address skill gaps.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, with a post-graduate qualification being advantageous but not mandatory.
• At least 11 years of experience in professional services, compliance, or business research & analysis, with a strong
background in service/operations delivery, people management, and a track record of successful project execution and
meeting targets.
• Excellent fluency in spoken and written English, with exceptional listening and comprehension skills.
• Proven expertise in stakeholder management, delivery excellence, and maintaining financial discipline.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to independently create reports and deliver
impactful presentations to larger executive groups, offering actionable insights.
