SaT Consultation Network – Senior Manager

 

Join our Risk Management team and help protect EY from risks that arise from its professional services. Risk Management teams provide coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues, as well as supporting our people in managing the risks that arise in our daily working lives. You will work closely with all parts of the organization to identify, manage and monitor risk by providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, compliance, regulatory, and ethical issues.

Job Summary

As a Manager member of the Independence Consultation Network, you will use your creativity and experience to help our client serving teams to deliver high quality, permissible services, as well as participating in various other special projects. You will have the opportunity to consult on various independence policies and procedures in variety of other independence matters all the while helping others to make educated, thoughtful decisions on Risk Management.

 

The projects you will work on are complex in nature and may impact relationships with or services to major clients. In this role, you will have fairly broad decision-making authority, subject to review by Americas Independence Leaders. You will work close with Independence Leaders and collaborate with other Region Independence professionals and deliver sound advice to help us maintain our Independence. Our brand depends on it. Your key responsibilities

Your role will include a variety of areas of Independence including consultations for the Strategy and Transactions (SaT) team. You will also have the opportunity to participate in Public Company Independence Procedures.  SaT – You will assist service line teams in complying with firm and regulator Independence policies by reviewing work products related to EY offerings/solutions, proposals and statements of work as it relates to Independence to identify independence threats, considerations and safeguards, preparing and presenting training materials, reviewing new tools and technologies developed, and preparing agendas for and participating in connection meetings with global, regional and competency service line leaders. In performing these duties, you'll interact with executive level personnel around the globe, serving as an ambassador for Independence. You may also lead a team, assign and delegate work assignments, review performance, train others and act as a counselor and mentor.

 

Skills and attributes for success

Use knowledge gained from in-depth client service or infrastructure experience, to resolve Independence policy and procedure issues, violations and concerns Manage client relationships so that expectations are met or exceeded by advising what to expect and by when, and through listening and responding to client needs Understand key requirements of regulators’ independence rules and firm policies and be knowledgeable about Risk Management areas outside of independence Identifies emerging risks and proposes solutions to address these

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

Project management skills to successfully handle multiple projects and initiatives concurrently Exemplary documentation and communication skills Working knowledge of process documentation, system implementation skills not required but beneficial Ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts Problem solving skills to address matters across multiple service lines, industry sectors and geographic areas Experience at driving and adapting to change Ability to deliver tough messages to executive leaders within the firm English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication Strong listening and interpretation skills Good working knowledge of computers and common software packages 7 to 10 plus years related experience Bachelor's degree

The ability to exercise significant levels of independent judgment and discretion when analyzing complex issues and risk across industry and service lines The ability to use your knowledge and experience and refer to the firm's Independence and related policies and regulations, to identify appropriate opportunities and solutions Background in Assurance

  What we offer   We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,100 to $240,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,100 to $273,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
