IMT- HVAC/R Mechanic
Scope of Performance: Qualified Industrial Maintenance Technician-HVAC/R Mechanic to support maintenance, repair, and installation of explosive and chemical processing equipment. Technician will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician will also support varying shifts including night shifts. Key Responsibilities: + Inspect, test and troubleshoot defects or malfunctions in HVAC/R and mechanical and related systems and fixtures. Inspect HVAC/R system equipment and fixtures using diagnostic techniques such as use of Direct Digital Control systems and standalone interface with HVAC/R systems. Check system for leaks and defects. Observe and test the operational efficiency of HVAC/R systems to localize malfunctions. Independently conduct inspections of and troubleshoots HVAC/R systems irregularities and existing and/or potential problems. Identify source and nature of system problems and develops solutions to complex HVAC/R related issues + Diagnose HVAC/R related issues with comfort cooling, Integrated Dehumidification Systems, (IDS), Energy Recovery Ventilators, (ERV), Dedicated Outdoor Air Supply systems, (DOAS), Chillers, Boilers, ductless mini split systems as well as Geothermal and Variable Refrigerant flow systems. Systems are by various manufacturer and may require specialized software for access and diagnostics. Provide corrective maintenance of defective components by cutting, bending, threading, and assembling piping materials suited to the specialized use on HVAC/R systems. Fit components or pipe sections by screwing, bolting, brazing, and welding, gluing, fusing, soldering, and replacing connections with new mechanical couplings + Independently perform corrective maintenance to components or entire systems according to the specifications and mechanical codes + Maintain a wide variety of HVAC/R systems. From small residential units to large industrial Chillers, Boilers, and IDS systems Education and Experience: + Master or Journeyman’s License, can be supplemented with experience + Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance + High School Diploma or equivalent + Ability to pass explosives handler physical and respirator fit test + Ability to pass Ammo-18 certification class + Sound technical and computer skills + Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.)
