General Summary
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on immersive learning initiatives at Granite Construction. The intern will assist in the 3D digital capture of project or plant locations, development and implementation of immersive learning experiences, user tests with employee pilot groups, leveraging skills in graphic design, game development, coding (minimal to advanced), and other relevant areas. This role is ideal for students interested in gaming, virtual reality, and learning and development.Essential Job Accountabilities
Assist in digital capture of real environments.
Assist in the design and development of immersive learning experiences for employees.
Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to create engaging and interactive training experiences.
Utilize graphic design, game development, and coding skills to enhance learning materials.
Conduct research on the latest trends and technologies in immersive learning.
Support the team in various HR projects and initiatives related to learning and development.
Participate in professional development events with other interns.
Travel locally (and potentially other parts of the United States) to active job sites as needed.
Education
Currently an undergraduate junior or senior enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university with a related major of Computer Science, Game Design, Graphic Design, VR/AR/XR, or related fields during the period of the internship.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Currently majoring in Computer Science, Game Design, Graphic Design, or a related field at a college or university.
Experience in graphic design, game development, or coding.
Experience or interest in Unity3D, Unreal, Matterport, Treedis or other 3D environments
Proficiency in multimedia formats, including print, video, and digital platforms.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant software.
