Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team and ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional care. You will be responsible for monitoring patient arrival, assisting with patient preparation for exams, and supporting physicians during examinations. You will also be responsible for obtaining and recording patient information, including vital signs and medical histories, and documenting results within the scope of practice.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor patient arrival and assist with patient flow.Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously.Escort patients to exam rooms and monitor wait times.Assist patients in preparing for exams and inform physicians when patients are ready.Assist during examinations as required or requested.Obtain and record patient's chief complaints, vital signs, and medical histories.Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and record allergies.Prepare medical records and document heights, weights, and vital signs.Ensure lab and other reports are on records before each appointment.Provide interpretation services and clerical support for office efficiency.Maintain examination rooms and medical areas clean and orderly.Stock examination rooms with supplies and verify vendor packing slips.Update patient information, including insurance coverage in EMR systems.Retrieve and file medical reports and lab results.Ensure confidentiality of patients' health information in compliance with HIPPA.Essential SkillsExperience with vitals, EMR systems, and medical assisting.Proficiency in patient care and Epic EMR systems.Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to float between different office locations if necessary.Strong candidates preferred for busy offices.Work Environment
This role is based in a busy outpatient office environment, handling 50-100 patients a day. The position is Monday through Friday, from 08:30 am to 05:00 pm. There are openings in Scarsdale, which handles both Cardiology and Internal Medicine.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
