Responsible for supervising areas of assignment and assisting in daily operations of imaging department (e.g., nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, CT, ultrasound, and/or interventional radiology).

Responsibilities

Safety

Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety. 

Record Keeping

Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required. 

Department Management

Maintains 24-hour accountability for department, making independent decisions to implement strategies and programs for patient focus.Delegates authority and accountability to staff to ensure optimal outcomes and staff engagement.Evaluates effectiveness of unit/department-based programs and processes to ensure optimal outcomes. 

Process Improvement

Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed. 

 

Staffing

Manages the unit/department effectively in regard to staffing and staff supervision 

Role Specific Responsibilities

Serves as the primary facilitator for daily patient flowServes as a liaison between staff and patients, communicating any delays and facilitating patient flow in all modalitiesProvides supervision, leadership and guidance to employeesCollaboratively works with like modalities across the system to ensure system staffing approach and technologist coverage are maintainedCoordinates work and patient flow to utilize staff efficientlyPerforms clinical exams as neededCollaborates with departmental and system leadership to improve quality of imaging service lineEnsures workload is balanced among staffLeads by example in all processes and patient experiencePromotes a culture of process improvement by utilizing and leading staff through use of problem solving tools such as Patient Care Improvement Board  Qualifications

Education

Associate’s degree

 Licenses and Certification

certification in an Imaging Modality required:AART, RDMS, and/or NMTCBBLS

Experience and Skills
