I/E Maintenance Engineer** **Freeport, TX** We are looking for a I/E Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Freeport, TX. **Come create chemistry with us!** We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for providing instrument and electrical engineering expertise to an assigned area of the site. In this role, you will assure proper design, installation and repair of instrument and electrical equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards. You will provide expertise to support maintenance, operations, and capital project activities. Additionally, this position ensures a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools. The scope is instrumentation, some controls (DCS/PLC) and electrical, typically less than 600 volts. **As a I/E Maintenance Engineer, you create chemistry by...** - Providing troubleshooting supporting and recommending on equipment repair/reliability. - Providing technical support to Maintenance Supervisor, specialists, and craftsmen on difficult repair activities. - Participating in or lead Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems. - Initiating and/or modifying predictive and preventive maintenance programs, utilizing SAP task lists for instructions and scheduling of PMs. - Designing and implementing small to medium-scale instrumentation and electrical loops and devices, including orifice and valve sizing and code adherence. - Maintaining loop specifications and drawings using SPI or other instrument database packages. - Owning and maintaining the safety lifecycle for existing safety instrumented systems and lead efforts in designing and developing the lifecycle for new systems. - Defining and ensuring strategic spare parts are managed and maintained. - Supporting project design, commissioning, and startup activities. - Assisting in recommending training and development options for in-house maintenance resources. - Partnering with operations, controls, and reliability teams to ensure strategic and tactical success of individual teams and the business. **If you have...** - Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline. - 5 years of experience and knowledge in providing technical guidance. - Field experience in petrochemical or Refinery instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance. - Strong problem-solving ability. - Broad-based, hands-on knowledge and experience with various types of electrical systems, VFD's, instrumentation, and control valves. - Knowledge of SPI (InTools) or other instrument database packages. - Experience with safety instrumented systems. - Proven organizational skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Reliability centered maintenance work practices. **Create your own chemistry with you@BASF** At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
