Job DescriptionAECOM has an opening for an experienced Geologist/Hydrogeologist in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin office to assist with a variety of projects including data management, site investigations and remediation. The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data in both the field and office settings. The field activities will consist of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and the oversight of subcontractors including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies. The office activities will involve preparation of investigation reports and providing support to junior to mid-level staff on projects. Will involve task managing one or more persons on field activities and supporting project managers to help accomplish tasks.
Specific responsibilities include:
Support a wide range of environmental investigation and remediation projects under CERCLA, RCRA, and State jurisdictions.Contribute directly to the preparation and review of technical project deliverables (e.g., work plans, remedial investigation reports, and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments).Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion sampling.Contribute on projects regarding technical approach, numerical analysis, cost estimation, planning, design, scheduling, quality control, and safety.Job duties will involve both field work and office assignments with occasional overnight travel required.Support developing CSMs for sites.Conducts research and does investigation work as required.Plans and organizes project studies.Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.Evaluating complex environmental data sets, including the use of modeling and statistics.Preparing, work plans, and technical reports, and presentations for technical meetings with clients and regulators.Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.Actively communicating with the technical team and Project Manager.May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.QualificationsMinimum Requirements
BA/BS and minimum 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.The role is subject to a background check, MVR check and enrollment in our medical surveillance program.US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.HAZWOPER certification, or ability to obtain one within 6 months.Preferred Qualifications
Experience and knowledge of Wisconsin/Minnesota/Illinois regulations.Knowledge of vapor intrusion sampling methods and CSM development.Knowledge of glacial depositional environmentsExperience developing and preparing reports for submittal and acceptance for technical clients and regulators.Ability to travel up to 50% to various job sites within US.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients and project team.Strong team worker, flexible.Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.Ability to multitask and have strong communication skills.Organized and able to work within a team of technical experts.Develop cost estimates associated with field related activities.Learn and develop a keen understanding of hazard recognition.Additional InformationAbout AECOM
