Responsibilities Conduct field investigations to identify potential groundwater sourcesDevelop models to simulate groundwater flow and predict aquifer behavior under different conditionsUse of modeling tools to evaluate water resource availability and potential impactsPerform pump tests to measure hydraulic propertiesTest data to characterize groundwater flow patternsEvaluate the potential impacts of development, land use changes on groundwater resourcesDevelop medication plans for contaminated groundwater sites. Monitor remediation activities and access their effectiveness over timeEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to groundwater management, water quality protection, and environmental permitting. Help prepare permit applications and environmental impact assessments as requiredPrepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings from hydrogeological studies and investigations. Communicate results to clients and regulatory agencies in a clear and understandable mannerManage hydrogeological projects from start to completions, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of fieldwork and laboratory testing activities
