Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is hiring for and HVAC Mechanic at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. This is a Full-Time, Day position.

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or general education Degree GED minimum of five years appropriate trade experienceCompletion of acceptable apprentice program at an accredited union program, vocational or technical schoolMust have proper certificates or licenses related to his/her particular skillMust have a New Jersey drivers license, and a New Jersey black seal stationary license or betterSuccessful completion of all Orientation Programs

Must have a New Jersey drivers license, and a New Jersey black seal stationary license or better,

Essential Functions:

Under direction maintains and repairs heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment including but not limited to: Chill/Hot water closed loop, chillers, heat exchanges, pumps, regulators, fan coils, control air system, pneumatic devices, and building management systemPerforms other related duties as requiredTakes lead over and gives assignments to one or more HVAC mechanics and or provides technical advice/assistance to journey level HVAC mechanics engaged in the operation, maintenance, and calibration of HVAC equipmentUtilizes skills to perform work as directed by manager or directorPerforms work in any of the skilled trades as a mechanic or as an assistant to a skilled tradesman as requiredMaintains all building functions on patient floors and patient roomsDelivers timely and efficient building services to staff, patients and visitorsRemains available for routine and emergency service calls according to Medical Center needsWorks overtime as requiredProvides on-call maintenance coverage for the Medical Center for repairs, installations, snow removal, relief mechanic and other emergencies or schedules projectsEnsures that patient care is the number on priorityResponds to work in any work discipline as requested by Engineering supervisors, foreman or director, and performs to the best of his/her ability
