HVAC Mechanic

General Summary

An HVAC Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of commercial and residential HVAC systems. Work to be performed throughout Southern Arizona at US Border Patrol Stations.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performing routine maintenance Troubleshooting Repair  Removal and Installation Communicate equipment deficiency Work with others

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

Ability to perform most tasks of the craft without supervision. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, schematics and diagrams as they pertain to the craft. Ability to drive safe Trained in all types and sizes of air conditioning refrigeration and evaporative cooling equipment. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification to purchase and handle ozone depleting chemical as outlined in federal and state regulations. Boiler and chiller experience a plus Must pass the Department of Homeland Security Background Investigation

Working Conditions

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions. Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
