HVAC Lead
Amentum
**Purpose and Scope:**
Meet all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) requirements to support the mission on a military installation. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Lead, supervise and manage a HVAC team or personnel.
+ Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair installed and portable heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration systems, dehumidification systems, water heaters, and low-pressure air compressors and associated distribution equipment
+ Perform installation, servicing and repairing environmental-control systems.
+ Assist with or perform mounting of compressor and condenser units on associated auxiliary equipment and components, using soldering and braising techniques.
+ Set thermostats in temperature-controlled buildings IAW DoDI 4170.11 Installation Energy Management.
+ Respond to emergency HVAC/R calls within 30 minutes.
+ Shut off air conditioning equipment, including window units for buildings with operable energy monitoring and control systems, when areas are not occupied.
+ Other HVAC duties as required.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ HVAC Technicians accomplishing chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) exchanges shall be certified IAW Florida State statute or equivalent and EPA certified.
+ HVAC Technicians shall have a Florida HVAC license/certification or equivalent.
+ Minimum of 7 (seven) years’ experience in HVAC.
+ Must have previous experience as a Lead in similar role.
+ Ability to read and write English is required.
+ Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
+ Strong ability to work and lead as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
+ Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
+ Must be a USN to fill this position.
+ Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport.
+ Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
+ Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
+ Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies.
+ Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds.
+ Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.
+ Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock.
+ The noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
+ Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
+ Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**
