POSITION SUMMARY
This position ensures the proper installation and performance of customers’ heating/air
conditioning and/or refrigerant systems in a residential environment. Identify, and
communicate proper maintenance of all equipment and systems; providing necessary
information on the proper uses of the equipment; and ensuring adequate materials are
available and on hand to perform all necessary steps to complete a safe installation of new
products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Coordinates with Dispatch and management team to ensure work orders are accurately
received and attended to in a timely manner based upon established goals and service
standards.
• Install heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and related equipment and/or
components (e.g., unit heaters, pumps, safety controls, valves, etc.) with the purpose
of ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Manage repair costs while minimizing inefficiencies.
• Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment (e.g., torches, cutters, drills, test
equipment, filters, control components, fan blades, gaskets, seals, etc.) for the
purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment is in safe operating
condition.
• Manage and maintain appropriate inventory ensuring availability of required parts and
equipment on an ongoing basis.
• Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and
ensuring availability of required items.
• Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety
concerns.
• Transports various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of
ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
• Must be able to work independently and have good customer communication skills.
POSITION COMPETENCIES
• General knowledge of electrical wiring of Furnaces, Boilers and Air-Conditioning
systems.
• Ability to fabricate miscellaneous sheet-metal and duct board transitions.
• Ability to remove Domestic Hot Water Heaters, Furnaces, Coils, Condensers and Boilers
with minimal damage.
• Ability to perform a complete installation of Domestic Hot Water Heaters, Furnaces,
Coils, Condensers and Boilers with minimal oversight.
• Ability to perform part replacement installations.
• Ability to install/repair gas piping, water piping, near boiler piping and the sweating of
copper piping.
• General knowledge and understanding on the sequence of operation regarding
Domestic Hot Water heaters, Furnaces, Coils, Condensers and Boilers to perform
routine maintenance.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Strong HVAC experience in residential areas preferred.
• Universal EPA Certification with 1-3 years’ experience
• Ability to speak, write, and read English.
• Ability to work independently.
• Valid Drivers License.
