We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with  minimum 4 years of experience working with Transportation and Aviation, Higher Education (University), K-12 schools (primary schools), Corporate, Healthcare, Restaurants, Hospitality,

in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, plumbing, and fire protection design for our Building Design Group.

Responsibilities

Our Mechanical Engineers at SSOE are essential, working closely with our project teams, project managers and clients to implement the designs in both 2D and 3D environments, often working out the practical distribution solutions and coordinating with multiple disciplines.

 

Mechanical Engineers can expect to support projects involving HVAC, plumbing systems (domestic, sanitary, natural gas, compressed air, and medical gases), and Fire Protection systems (wet, dry, and clean agent). They also cover a wide range of expertise, such as calculating sizing and routing paths of ducts and pipes and producing drawings from provided.

 

Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, ductwork, piping, plumbing, and fire protection.Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design in Transportation and Aviation, Higher Education (University), K-12 schools (primary schools), Corporate, Healthcare, Restaurants, and Hospitality industries.Performs calculation of HVAC loads, ductwork static pressure, pump head, ventilation requirements, energy code compliance, etc.Performs calculation of domestic (cold and hot), sanitary, natural gas, compressed air, medical gas, domestic water booster pumps, etc., systems. Performs calculation of fire protection systems (booster pump sizing, pipe sizing, etc.). Reviews work with supervisor or engineer of record to ensure the application of sound engineering practices and professional judgment.Exercises limited judgment in making adaptations or modifications to design concepts.May write portions of specifications and assist in preparing cost estimates. Responsible for reviewing construction submittals for conformance with the contract documents / design (which could include major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction).

 

Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Engineering+4 years of professional experience with similar projectsFamiliarity with applicable design codes and standards (International Codes, NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, etc.). Experience with Revit software is preferred.Strong communication skills and facilitate a professional relationship.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment (in office and remotely). Ability to work with remote office team members and across various company office locations and time zones.Experience mainly in building design related with the projects described such as: Transportation and aviation,  education (university and primary schools), corporate, healthcare, restaurants, hospitality.English written and spoken is necessary.
