Human Resources Manager - TRATON USA R&D

In April 2023, TRATON embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate independent brand Research & Development (R&D) Organizations in Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus into a single global TRATON R&D organization. By integrating the capabilities and resources of our brands, we will accelerate the introduction of new technologies and solutions to deliver the most competitive products and solutions to our customers. We currently have a great opportunity for an HR Manager on our TRATON USA’s R&D Team. The TRATON R&D organization is going through a major transformation with the target to become an even stronger Group by completing the establishment of a worldwide Group R&D organization. We are now looking for a new colleague within People & Culture, who wants to join the Group R&D HR change journey. We are looking for a collaborative leader who fosters a culture of service excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and satisfaction across the HR-supported workforce and who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, displaying a hands-on leadership style, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making. In the role of HR Manager, you will join the newly established Group HR R&D Team, collaborating closely with the Group R&D Managers, and International counterparts. Together, you will ensure the smooth execution of all HR processes to support R&D organizational objectives. As our new R&D HR team is a Group sub team, we are working with all brands in the Group (Scania, MAN, International). In your role it’s therefore important to have a Group view and have frequent contact with all brands. Responsibilities Align and execute HR strategies, processes, and policies for TRATON R&D US LLC, ensuring they align with TRATON Group’s strategic and tactical objectives, as well as the broader HR R&D vision. Lead, mentor, and develop the local HR team which includes an HR Specialist/Junior HRBP Build strong relationships with R&D and TRATON leadership, providing expert HR advisory support to drive business success. Ensure compliance with labor laws and partner with TRATON Group, Group R&D, and the brands to manage HR operations efficiently and effectively. Drive strategic HR planning and proactively manage workforce capacity adjustments in line with business needs. Ensure equitable HR practices, including compensation, and actively enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. Oversee and align recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, and retention strategies with the goals of the local entity and the broader R&D business. Provide expert labor law guidance to managers, ensuring legal compliance and sound decision-making. Oversee and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations by addressing and managing employee conduct consistently and fairly. Collaborate with the Strategy & Projects Lead, contributing insights, expertise, and recommendations to advance HR initiatives and projects. Actively foster collaboration with HR Managers across other R&D entities worldwide. In addition to local responsibilities, act as the global business partner for the global R&D Area Head(s), supporting the coordination of global HR initiatives, providing insights on key HR topics, and ensuring alignment across local HRBPs. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree At least 12 years of HR or Organizational Development experience At least 2 years of lead experience OR Master's degree At least 8 years of HR or Organizational Development experience At least 2 years of lead experience OR At least 14 years of HR or Organizational Development experience At least 2 years of lead experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Experience in leading HR functions, with expertise spanning the full spectrum of HR activities, within large-scale, complex, and matrixed global organizations. A proven track record of managing and developing high-performing HR teams, providing strategic guidance while ensuring efficient support for a large headcount across multiple functions or business areas. Experience within in an international, matrix organization Ability to build strong relationships with senior leadership, offering strategic HR insights, and aligning HR strategies with business objectives to support organizational growth and transformation. Experience in overseeing and improving HR processes, operational procedures, and service delivery frameworks, including those related to employer branding, recruitment, and talent development, ensuring alignment with company-wide standards. Proficiency in MS Office tools such as PowerPoint and Excel, with additional experience in analytics platforms like Power BI and HR systems such as SAP HR and SAP SuccessFactors preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to manage sensitive information with reliability, discretion, and professionalism.
