Human Resources (HR) Manager
Description We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in RED OAK, Iowa, United States. This role encompasses overseeing the human resources generalist function, offering expert HR guidance, and collaborating closely with plant management. The HR Manager will play a key role in managing the daily HR operations, addressing employee relations issues, and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Responsibilities • Oversee the general human resources function and offer expert HR guidance to plant management • Ensure adherence to mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, and detail oriented licensure • Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff • Organize major company events and implement new permanent orientation and employee recognition programs • Collaborate closely with the plant leadership team to identify, investigate, and address employee relations issues • Implement and communicate corporate policies, including fair and equitable disciplinary practices • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the permanent of experienced job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings • Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility • Monitor and analyze turnover data, develop and implement retention plans, and update monthly safety reports • Keep up-to-date with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Requirements • Proficiency in benefit functions, demonstrating an ability to manage and administer employee benefits. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. • A strong understanding of compliance requirements related to HR, including knowledge of employment laws and regulations. • Experience in managing employee relations, showing an ability to resolve conflicts and promote a positive work environment. • Familiarity with hiring processes, from screening resumes to conducting interviews and finalizing job offers. • Ability to coordinate schedules, ensuring smooth operations within the HR department. • Knowledge of company policy, including the ability to develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures. • Experience in corporate recruiting, demonstrating an ability to source, recruit, and secure top talent. • Proven track record in conducting interviews, showing proficiency in evaluating candidates and making informed decisions on permanent placements.
