Human Resources - HR Manager

STS Packaging Charlotte, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company is currently seeking a Bi-Lingual Human Resources Manager in Charlotte, NC. The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Human Resources. The Human Resources Manager is responsible forall employment related activities including talent acquisition, employee relations, interviewing, hiring, HRIS administration, benefits coordination, disciplines, payroll, assisting employees with various projects, policy review/implementation, Worker’s Compensation claims etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION

Direct all phases of employment including talent acquisition, interviewing, training/tracking, drug testing, background checks, placement of personnel, orientation programs, exit interview unemployment compensation hearings, progressive discipline, terminations, etc Administer new hire orientation program, ensuring a welcoming and positive experience for each new hire Coordinate and administer all employees’ benefits: Medical, Dental Vision and Life Insurance, 401K, Short Term & Long-Term Disability and FMLA Coordinate and administer annual Benefits Open Enrollment Manage local HR functions: maintain and administer HR reports and records timely and accurately, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Corporate and Local policies and procedures Coordinate with management and schedule the Annual Audio Testing (OSHA compliance). Maintain and update electronic employee files, local org chart, employee roster, turnover reports, etc. Completion/overviewing of paperwork for work-related incidents (Workers’ Compensation) submitted by Supervisors and also tracking the status of each claim. Ensuring injured employees receive the proper medical services needed. Follow-up with injured workers. Oversee local HRIS system and maintain reports related to employees leaves (FMLA & STD) including absences/tardiness occurrence tracking. Maintain all starting pay rates, market pay review, and all pay rate changes in HRIS system.

 

OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

Administration of the following Company Programs:

Hanover – Responsible for Workers Compensation reporting site and following up on claims regularly Sedgwick – Responsible for coordination of communication regarding employee leave of absense Data Facts – background checks/drug tests for all new potential hires DayForce– HR Information System. Input new hires and/or employees updates. Creation of reports as needed for compliance Preparation of Yearly OSHA reports Talent Acquisition – using temporary staffing agencies if needed, DayForce- Indeed - LinkedIn - Walk-ins, Employee Referrals, etc Risk Management – Site Administrator – Post Incidents/Accidents and ensuring all information is accurate and complete Unemployment Compensation – fulfill informational requests Drug Program Manager – Pre-Employment and Reasonable Suspicion training and coordination of testing Convergence Learning - Online Training. Follow ups and Reporting. DayForce – Weekly payroll processing for direct hire and temp employees Serve as primary source of contact to managers, employees, and legal counsel on all Human Resources related matters. Attend hearings and court proceedings as needed for any legal matters in regard to employment or Workers’ Compensation. Attend bi-annual H.R. Summits Organizing and implementing employee engagement activities (lunches, gifts, service anniversaries, gift cards, Company Picnics, Holiday Parties, birthdays, etc Assist/maintain in-plant communications to employees Employee Handbook revisions – monitor and consistently enforce policies, recommend policy updates Safety Committee Administrator/Member – attend Plant monthly meetings. Lead employee investigations, make recommendation based on situation and comparators Additional duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS

Four-year college degree – Or equivalent experience Five years’ experience as a HR generalist in a management position Bi-lingual (English & Spanish)

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Experience working in a manufacturing environment Professional designation (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)

Computer data-entry experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Computer literate (proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Constant standing, walking, talking, hearing; occasional sitting; specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision. The position also requires the ability to stand 90% of shift and lift up to 45 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be available.
