Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
This role serves as the human resources representative for the Concord and Roseville Offices, performing day-to-day administration and coordination of human resources transactions and employee/labor relations matters. This position is exempt and non-union.
Responsibilities
+ Handle day-to-day personnel transactions and assist with labor relations issues.

+ Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
+ Administer collective bargaining agreements, administrative guidelines, and federal and state laws and regulations under the direction and guidance of the Sr Director of Human Resources.
+ Coordinate and administer recruitment processes including preparing and posting job announcements, reviewing applications, conducting preliminary phone screenings, scheduling interviews, administering pre-employment assessments, conducting screening and reference checks, e-verify, and preparing offer letters.
+ Prepare, coordinate, and conduct new hire orientation, management functions training, quarterly presentations for management, and similar training programs.
+ Process paperwork and maintain records related to recruitment, performance appraisals, terminations, and similar transactions.
+ Provide guidance to supervisory staff on employee relations issues, recruitment, performance management, and similar issues.
+ Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
+ Respond to employee and supervisor inquiries regarding human resources policies and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
+ Develop positive working relationships with employees and union representatives.
+ Track attendance and administer leave (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.) ensuring legal compliance.
+ Administer workplace accommodation (ADA, FEHA, Religious, etc.) including the interactive process, determinations, and documentation.
+ Assist supervisory staff with disciplinary actions in compliance with collective bargaining agreements and established policies and procedures.
+ Conduct exit interviews and employee check-in interviews and prepare reports of findings.
+ Respond to unemployment claims and attend hearings on behalf of the company.
+ Ensure all I-9 handling is within compliance standards.
+ Identify situations that may require investigations and carry out investigations as needed.
+ Create and review written summaries of employee relations issues.
+ Maintain and update personnel documents and files related to current and former employees, as well as applicants and candidates.
+ Handle the workers compensation process including filing paperwork, communicating with the employee, physician, and workers compensation insurance provider.
+ Periodically update the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations.
+ Assist in the annual update of the Business Resumption Plan.
+ Create, document, and update standard operating procedures for the Human Resources Department.
+ Train new regular Human Resources staff as needed.
+ Complete special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of human resources experience
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
+ Experience with HRIS, preferably ADP WorkforceNow
+ Knowledge of employment and labor laws and regulations
+ Understanding of principles and best practices of human resources management
+ Familiarity with applicable policies and procedures governing hiring, employment, and separation of employees
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong employee relations and recruiting skills
+ Experience in onboarding and HR administration
+ Knowledge of performance management and human resource generalist functions
Work Environment
This is a 5-day per week on-site role based in Concord, CA, with travel to the Roseville office at least three times a month. Mileage and toll reimbursements are provided. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75154.00 - $88404.00/yr.
