Human Resources Generalist
Our GFL team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist! In this role, you’ll be reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager, Solids Waste West and play a vital part by supporting labor relations, performance management and the execution of HR initiatives and practices that support the assigned client groups and the overall organization.

A “Day in the Life" of a Human Resources Generalist:

Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and labor relations while offering confidential support to leaders managing sensitive employee issues.

Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives by analyzing data trends, improving processes, and reducing turnover.

Act as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, collaborating with managers to address potential issues proactively.

Support organizational change initiatives and advise managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures.

Investigate employee concerns, ensure thorough follow-through, and provide benefits guidance, HRIS support, reporting, and auditing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field; CPHR designation or actively working towards it.

3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, with demonstrated experience in Employee Relations and labor relations issues.

Knowledge of current Labour Laws, Human Rights, and Employment Standards.

Strong attention to detail, a proven track record of completing project tasks, and project management skills.

Ability to work independently, under pressure, and adapt to evolving priorities and timelines, with a customer-focused and professional attitude.

Demonstrated ability to support organizational change by building and leveraging professional working relationships, with some travel required (10–15%).
