Job Description 

The HR Generalist is an important member of the Human Resources team. The position primarily focus is recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, engagement activities/events, and attendance administration. This position requires a dynamic individual who can balance administrative duties, project planning, and ongoing employee support, ensuring that all processes are compliant and that employee concerns are addressed timely with professionalism and empathy. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and ensure the seamless operation of these critical functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

HR Administration

Responsible for the full-scope recruitment of hourly employees from posting to onboarding; assists with salaried recruitingParticipate in the design, development and updating of policies and proceduresMaintain records for mandatory training, continuing education, tuition reimbursement, and disciplinary documentationBenefit administration to include new hire enrollment; open enrollment; change reporting; and invoice review and approvalConducts new employee orientation and onboardingMaintains HRMS records and compiles reports as neededMaintains personnel files, medical files, and training records in compliance with applicable legal requirementsPerforms other duties as assigned

Inclusion & Engagement

Using best business judgment, oversee employee relations matters, including employee recognition programs, disciplinary matters, performance improvement plans, and exit interviewsWork closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retentionManages employee communication channels, including electronic monitors, weekly employee meetings, quarterly business updates, and mass text notification systemLead the development and execution of Community Outreach and DEI initiatives requiring constant communication with internal external organizations

Compliance

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and proceduresMonitors FMLA and other leaves of absenceSupports operations by attending line walks, conducting safety inspections and 6S initiativesParticipates in the development and administration of Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business or equivalent experience requiredMinimum three years of Human Resources experienceExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredMicrosoft Office knowledge, intermediate to expert requiredExperience with timekeeping and payroll preferredPHR and / or SHRM-CP Certifications preferredMust have superior communication skills and be a collaborative, team playerMust have a passion for continuous improvementHigh level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentationMust be able to work flexible schedule when needed to support 24/7 operation
