Our teams have repeatedly been recognized for outstanding performance by some of the most prestigious organizations in the world including The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, NASA & Northrop Grumman.         Human Resources (HR) Generalist, Marine   Overview   The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is a part of the Marine Business Unit HR Team and will ensure efficient, effective, knowledgeable HR services to provide guidance and solutions related to HR inquiries.   This position is responsible for proactively developing relationships and executing all aspects of the human resources function with an emphasis in the areas on staffing, recruiting, and employee relations. The HR Generalist will build and maintain effective relationships with other team members within Human Resources to ensure tools and resources are up to date, and to identify opportunities to increase effectiveness of HR services.   To succeed in this role, you will be self-motivated with outstanding organizational and time management skills, have a project-oriented mindset with the ability to partner well with others. You will foster high levels of collaboration and coordination to ensure effective service delivery and agility to achieve Marotta’s business priorities. The HR Generalist will report directly to the HR Business Partner.   Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred Approximately 4+ years of experience in a variety of Human Resources disciplines (recruiting, company policy, compensation, internal communications, HR reporting and compliance, and benefits). Minimum 2 years of direct employee relations experience Knowledge of applicable employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, EEO, Title VII, etc. Experience administering various HR systems (i.e., HRIS, Applicant Tracking System) Proven ability to manage projects through to completion. Ability to work in a team environment; at times taking the lead and at other times taking direction, including proficiency working with cross-functional teams. Ability to exercise sound judgment in the handling of confidential material and information. Strong organizational and planning skills. Exemplary verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as all outside agents, including but not limited to, vendors, suppliers, customers, etc. Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.  Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities: Participates in recruiting process by reviewing resumes, conducting phone screening and panel interviews, facilitating debrief sessions and performing compensation analysis for offers.   Partner with HR Operations to ensure all new hires complete on-boarding tasks before start date. Work with managers and talent acquisition team to meet hiring plan.  Assist in salary review process for recommendations on new hire salaries, promotional increases, equity adjustments and annual merit increases. Conduct 30- day and 60-day new hire interview and exit interviews. Respond to employees' inquiries regarding personnel policies and procedures.   Objectively assessing and bringing to resolution employee relations issues. Partner with HRBPs when needed to resolve any issues. Assist in the out processing of employees regarding administrative matters. Supporting Performance Evaluation Program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization, evaluating 90-day performance reviews, quarterly check-ins, annual performance reviews and performance improvement plans. Provide counsel to management on the completion of performance reviews and performance improvement plans. Conducts investigations and handles employee relations counseling with related employee population. Additional Duties / Responsibilities: Serve as backup for various HR responsibilities. Maintain and continue to elevate relationships with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and all other facets of the company. Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirements. Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization. Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. to provide constructive recommendations and initiate actions to support company initiatives/goals. Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values. Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Ensure that work area and work areas of direct reports are clean, secure, and well maintained. Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required. Work Environment: This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required). Marotta follows three schedules: Monday to Thursday, 9 hours every day. Fridays 4 hours remote. Monday to Thursday 10 hours every day. Fridays off. Monday to Friday 8 hours. This role supports two locations (Montville and Parsippany). Travel will be required between both locations as needed. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The HR Generalist is frequently required to reach and lift with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The HR Generalist is regularly required to at sit length, stand, walk, bend, turn, etc., and move about the facility.
