The Human Resources Coordinator will directly support the Big Ten Network employee population, including freelance and remote employees. The Coordinator supports all human resources processes providing administrative and technical support throughout the employee life cycle. This includes supporting employees with processes such as hiring, orientation, onboarding, payroll support, and training. Additionally, this role will assist in the planning and facilitation of various company programs and events. The Coordinator will play a role in fostering an engaging culture to deliver on the Big Ten Network values.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide HR support to full-time and freelance employees including but not limited to orientation, cyclical HR processes, training, company programs & initiatives, and general HR questionsUtilize the HRIS system to process employee actions including new hire onboarding, terminations, transfers, and data updatesCommunicate and partner with hiring managers and crewing teams to ensure successful and accurate onboarding including but not limited to troubleshooting and validation for data integrity.Coordinate with internal departments and follow up to ensure completion of HR processes including but not limited to compliance documents and training requirementsOrganize and maintain accurate company files and documents as directed including but not limited to department files, employee documents, compliance documents, and reportingMonitor and track freelance headcount approvals and business justificationsLiaise with Payroll, Recruiting, and HR Operations to manage and resolve day-to-day employee issues or discrepanciesRespond to and assist in the resolution of HR-related inquiries for full-time and freelance employees in a timely mannerConduct training sessions for business related to freelance onboarding and I-9 verificationsInterpret and communicate company policies and procedures ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulationsSpecial projects and other duties as requested, including providing the Human Resources department with overflow assistance, employee engagement activities, etc.WHAT YOU WILL NEED
2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources preferably providing Human Resources IT and administrative supportWorking knowledge and understanding of Human Resources practices, policies, and basic Illinois employment lawsHigh level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentialityDemonstrated ability to work independently, be proactive, and take initiative in a fast-paced, deadline driven environmentStrong ability to develop and maintain trusted relationships with others including executives, full-time staff, and freelance employeesExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and outstanding organizational & project management skills are necessaryProficient in the use of Microsoft applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAvailable to work a varying work schedule that may include evenings and weekends as assigned, dependent upon event programming and company events, and some travelNICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
