Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) - Remote
Time Zone Requirement: Candidates must be able to work standard business hours in Mountain Time (MT) or Pacific Time (PT).
Position Type & Travel: This is a full time remote position. Up to 15-20% travel may be required, including outside the local area and overnight.
Overview:
Innovative Renal Care (IRC) is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to provide strategic HR support, drive employee engagement, and ensure HR compliance across a multi-state organization. The HRBP will collaborate with operations teams and leadership to implement HR strategies that align with business goals, enhance workplace culture, and promote employee retention.
This role requires expertise in employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, HR compliance, and leave administration (FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves). The HRBP serves as a key advisor to leaders, offering guidance on HR best practices while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
Essential Functions:
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, progressive discipline, and compliance with HR policies. Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop HR programs, policies, and workforce planning strategies. Partner with management to foster a positive workplace culture, improve employee engagement, and drive retention efforts. Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and state-specific employment laws when managing HR cases. Provide interpretation and guidance on HR policies, legal compliance, and HR best practices to field managers. Stay up to date on employment law changes and industry best practices to proactively address HR compliance issues. Manage full-cycle leave administration for FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD). Determine FMLA eligibility and advise managers on next steps when employees are not eligible. Serve as a liaison between employees, managers, and third-party disability carriers to ensure compliance and a smooth leave process. Maintain HR records and update HRIS systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Draft and manage HR documents, reports, and complex spreadsheets as needed. Assist with unemployment claims, workers' compensation cases, and HR investigations. Work with HR leadership to identify training needs and participate in the development and delivery of HR training programs. Stay current with employment law updates and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement in HR processes.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree or HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of HR experience is required, with a focus on employee relations, HR compliance, and leave administration preferred. Strong understanding of HR laws, policies, and best practices related to FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and progressive discipline. Experience in a consultative HR environment is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). HRIS experience preferred (Workday, UKG, ADP, or similar systems). Ability to work standard business hours in Mountain Time (MT) or Pacific Time (PT).
