Kimley-Horn is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to join our Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) office on their HR team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities Propose solutions and engage partners in the areas of retention efforts, general Employee Relations concerns, performance management, terminations, teambuilding, complaint/conflict resolution, and career development Conduct new hire orientations and associated integration activities to ensure a positive onboarding experience Serve as a benefits point-of-contact by responding to questions and educating employees on company benefit programsManage leaves of absence, including FMLA and workers’ compensation Facilitate multiple training programs Provide primary support for the annual and semi-annual performance review processes across the region. Conduct regular check-ins with employeesParticipate in and support special projects that have impact across the region and organization.Perform regular audits of HRIS system, in collaboration with HR Assistant(s), to ensure accuracy of employee information.Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve processes, employee engagement, and policy alignment across the region.Provide exceptional support to all internal partners and clients; respond promptly to questions and take ownership of follow up. Support HR Assistant with the onboarding process for new hires as needed, including communication, initiating pre-employment paperwork, background checks, and coordination of drug screens. Qualifications Bachelor’s (or Master’s degree) in Human Resources or related field A minimum of 5 - 8 years of related experience, including employee relations Ability to travel within the US to support the needs of the region; overnight travel required occasionallyKnowledge of federal and state labor and employment law Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS systems Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, presentation, and relationship building Excellent organization and follow-through skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision Ability and desire to work collaboratively with team members within the region, as well as across the firm, to meet goalsAbility to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent internal and external client servicePreferred:
