Position Overview:

Austin Resource Recovery (ARR) is an organization of 500 plus employees that provides residential curbside collection of trash, recycling, and composting to the residents of the Austin metropolitan area. Additional services include bulk and large brush collection, street sweeping, dead animal collection, and a drop-off center for hard-to-recycle items and household hazardous waste.

The Human Resources Advisor or Advisor Sr. debriefs with management to provide recommendations and solutions, conducts informal mediations related to employee disputes, and assists the City’s labor relations office in mediating disputes between other City of Austin employees.

This position will work within the Human Resources division of Austin Resource Recovery to perform a wide variety of HR functions. This position will focus on recruiting, staffing, compensation and job classification for Austin Resource Recovery. Experience hiring in a public sector environment is preferred.

They will be responsible for constructing and administering employee compensation programs and incentives. They will build partnerships with external agencies and City of Austin departments to design more affective recruiting strategies and attract a diverse candidate pool.

They will provide guidance to leadership on compensation, policy interpretation and complex human resources issues. They will perform other duties related to, HRIS systems, BANNER, UKG, and serve as a back up for HR core functions.

They will be tasked with special projects and events. Top candidate must possess discretion in handling details of a highly confidential and sensitive nature. They should be collaborative, as well as assertive and confident and model professional demeanor and integrity.

Pay Range HR Advisor: $30.70 – $38.37
