RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Human Resources Technician II directly supports the HR Manager, Corporate Benefits Manager, Sr. Data Analyst, as well as assists all visiting guests. This individual is the essential support for the McCarty HR department and must maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. This role manages a multitude of time sensitive duties that require a highly motivated individual who must be effective at prioritizing the workload, be task oriented, and successful at completing assignments accurately and on time. The Human Resources Technician II utilizes multiple systems and should have an early adopter mindset as new systems and technology continue to advance. To be successful, the individual must enjoy working with others as well as be able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment. This individual will be responsible for Human Resource communications and file management.
• Responsible for onboarding which includes entry, approvals, and verification in the system for accuracy.
• Conduct new hire orientation meetings including safety training.
• Responsible for internal job posting process.
• Enter data into various databases accurately and timely as required.
• Responsible for the PELA process by tracking, collecting insurance, and updating Workday accurately.
• Responsible for the FML/STD process by Workday entry, assisting employees with questions, collecting insurance, sending appropriate letters, and advises Supervisors on proper coding for FML/STD.
• Responsible for the layoff process by preparing all layoff forms, completing all NSO data entry in Workday, updating packet information, conducting layoff meetings, and verifying KRONOS to advise Supervisors on coding.
• Create flyers, job postings, internal communications, and other graphics to post or distribute to employees for all HR related communications.
• Front desk duties include greeting employees and visitors, answering basic HR questions, and distributing mail throughout the department.
• Lead the HR department in renovating the current employee filing process to electronic filing.
• Responsible for office organization by maintaining the file room, storage rooms, conference rooms, and ensures general office areas are organized.
• Facilitate process improvements for the department.
• Assist with Blood Drive, 401K meetings, Health Fair, Open Enrollment, Flu Shot, Mammogram, Dinosaur and Retiree celebration as well as the coordination of other HR meetings where needed.
• Support processing of shared work and unemployment claims.
• Allocate Catalyst invoicing and P-Card allocation in a timely manner.
• Monitor HR rotary and other communication boards to ensure adequate forms are available and current information is posted.
• Responsible for all filing including personnel files, medical, and benefit filing.
• Manage the Scholastic Employee Library
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects with regular interruptions and with minimum supervision.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is a must.
• Must have extensive and proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and the ability to learn new programs and technologies.
• Ability to prioritize work is required.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Must be flexible with shift schedule and ability to work overtime as needed.
• Must be a team player.
• Smartsheet experience is a plus.
• Must be able to travel as needed, including running company errands for departmental needs
• Data Entry experience is required.
