Reports To: President of Operations


Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties, working closely with all levels of the organization. This position carries out the responsibility in all functional areas in Human Resources and as an HR Liaison. 


General Purpose: Maintain culture building and development of the Family Express “Living Brand” by observing all aspects of the company’s Human Resources and the Human Resource department, consistent with the Family Express vision and mission. Aids all levels of the company, adhering to all department policies and procedures.


Role Qualifications:  Must be able to be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, to support our stores and all levels of the organization. Be able to interact with Family Express personnel, the community, industry, customers, and vendors effectively and professionally. Possess previous experience in Human Resources or related field.

Position Responsibilities

Acts as an HR Liaison to assigned territories and/or departmentsMonitor associate morale and company cultureProvide personnel policy and procedure guidance to associates and managementDevelop and maintain performance management processesReviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessmentsAssists in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes throughout the organizationMaintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best      practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute Human Resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and developmentMaintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment lawResponsible for the management of risk within all layers of the company, including reporting, incident line, and minimizing financial impactHandles employment-related inquiries from applicants, associates, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staffAssist with all functions of payroll processingOther duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements

Previous retail experience2–4-year college degree in Human Resources or related field

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical  Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for prolonged periods; work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.Work Environment: Must have flexibility to work, all days of the week,  when necessary, along with holidays and evenings.
