About you and this role:
We are looking for one Ph.D. level experienced human health toxicologist and one Ph.D. level experienced human health exposure scientist/risk assessor, who are excited about working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team as a member of a world-class chemical industry product safety assessment expertise unit with long-standing history and scientific reputation.

Primary responsibilities:
Conduct human health toxicological and/or exposure assessments for development of sustainable products and manufacturing processesReview new and existing products and processes to develop recommendations on required and appropriate toxicology data collection and researchConduct human health exposure modeling and assessmentEvaluate and review testing procedures to ensure compliance with the appropriate protocols, guidelines, and sound scientific practicesProvide leadership in human health toxicology and/or human health exposure/risk assessment science research of interest to Dow businessesInterface with government agencies and policy makersInteract with appropriate industry trade associationsProvide consultation to Dow businesses and manufacturing operations on human health risk management topicsPresentation of scientific research at technical symposia and in peer-reviewed publications is expected in this roleRequired qualifications:
Ph.D. in toxicology or in a related scientific discipline (i.e, pharmacology, public health, industrial hygiene, exposure science, biostatistics, etc.)At least 6 years of experience practicing regulatory human health toxicology and/or human health exposure/risk assessment within a product safety framework A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) processPreferred qualifications:
Certifications such as DABT are advantageousExperience with plastics, microplastics, or recycled materials is a plusSkills, knowledge, and abilities:
Understand global chemical regulatory requirements (i.e., EU REACH & CLP, USEPA TSCA, Canadian DSL, and recent China and Korea programs) for purposes of product testing and registrationUnderstand global food contact, cosmetic and medical application regulatory requirementsExpertise in product safety testing for regulatory purposes and regulatory guideline studiesAbility to incorporate toxicity and exposure information in product risk assessmentsAbility to understand and translate complex toxicological and/or exposure information into clear messages and recommendations for a wide range of scientific to non-scientific audiencesAbility to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functionally with partners outside of teamA team player who is a self-motivated quick learner with the ability to grasp the “essence”, prioritize and be strategic, and can change course quickly where indicatedEnjoy learning and are open to suggestions and experimentation for improvementEffective interpersonal communications skills are a critical competency since this role requires the ability to interface with a variety of scientific subject matter experts as well as non-experts from various geographiesAdditional notes:
