HUD Capital Projects Coordinator, Facility Engineering

General Summary:

The HUD Capital Projects Coordinator supports the management and oversight of all phases of projects/renovations (typically under $100,000) across Sheppard Pratt, specifically all HUD-owned locations. This includes capital needs assessments and forecasting; scope development, budget development and management, construction schedules; prioritizing; assisting with project execution by managing clients & contractors; assuring adherence to plans schedules; and reporting on project performance/status.  At Sheppard Pratt, we have approximately 100+ HUD-owned properties across the State of Maryland. In general, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides federal aid to local agencies that manage public housing at affordable rents.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Work requires ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; knowledge of building codes, architectural and engineering drafting practices and building construction and renovation practices, extensive knowledge/experience with MS Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Project (specifically Gannt chart management) acquired through: High school diploma/GED plus at least 5 years of related experience: or AA degree in engineering or related field plus at least 3 years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience. At least 1 year in a project manager role. Preferred experience working with HUD related process including budgeting and documentation. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) preferred.  Experience with AutoCAD preferred. Travel to Catonsville and/or Frederick may be required on occasion

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
