Skills & Responsibilities:
• Ensure HSSE goals, objectives and targets are met through personal leadership and involvement.
• To provide HSSE management, leadership, and support for all Project activities.
• To provide written HSSE program via procedures and plans on OMV’s behalf for FEED/EPCM Contractor’s direction and guidance.
• To monitor and track overall Project HSSE performance and communicate trends and achievements.
• To advise PMT and FEED/EPCM Contractor(s) on successful implementation of HSSE objectives.
Principal Accountabilities: -
• Champion the Project Safety culture, through behaviors and engagement activities.
• Development and implementation of Project HSSE plans and procedures.
• Development and implementation of HSSE training program for Construction resources.
• Interface and coordination with OMV Operations and FEED/EPCM Contractor’s, HSSE management.
• Management of PMT HSSE staff.
• Manage FEED/EPCM Contractor conformance to Project HSSE requirements.
• Lead/participate in Project root cause investigations and communicate lessons learned.
• Chair weekly HSSE meetings with FEED/EPCM Contractor(s).
• Analysis of Project leading and lagging indicators.
• Generate and compile HSSE statistics for input to PMT Weekly/Monthly progress reports.
• Development and implementation of behavioral based safety program.
• Develop HSSE audit program.
• Provide training necessary for Project and FEED/EPCM Contractor teams.
• To support development of HSSE programs as required.
Your Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: -
Minimum Requirements: -
• Engineering Degree or High School Diploma with HNC or equivalent.
• Member of an appropriate professional organization.
• Twelve (12) years if degree-ed or fifteen (15) years if non-degree-ed experience; half of it within the field of Safety, Security, Health and Environment for Oil and Gas Projects.
• Functional management, leadership and teambuilding skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• NEBOSH or IOSH or OSHA HSSE Qualification.
• Lead Auditor.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, ACONEX, etc.
• Able to work within a defined role with limited supervision.
• Able to make decisions and solve problems related to a specific discipline/field.
• Responsible for own work product with minimal guidance and oversight from immediate supervisor.
• Establishes credibility with peers and supervisors and makes good use of their time.
• Exercises judgment in making decisions; knows when to seek advice.
Communication Skills: -
• Team player.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Professional communication skills –Able to communicate with peers, customers, and vendors.
Core Competencies: -
• Demonstrated experience in working in an Oil and Gas or Energy Company in HSSE management role.
• Thorough understanding of project management and HSSE concepts including: - Behavioral Safety, Hazard Analysis, Risk Management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.
• Knowledgeable of Safety in Design and Construction and Project drivers.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of disciplines in a Design and Construction setting.
• Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize competing tasks.
• Familiarity with various types of Oil and Gas, Energy Sectors Contracts.
