HSE Director

Primoris Services Corporation is currently seeking a dynamic leader who can fill a Director of Heath Safety and Environment role for our Renewables segment of Primoris.  This position is responsible for deploying a robust HSE management system with their HSE Director peers in the Renewable group and providing direction and guidance in the HSE strategy across their project portfolio aligning with the great Renewable Business strategy. The HSE Director will be tasked with ensuring that the PSC/Renewables HSE Management System is implemented across the business and is scalable to accommodate anticipated growth and ensure HSE has a heightened profile in line with all strategic objectives of the business. This position is be based in the USA and has the ability to work remotely. This role reports directly to the Vice President of HSE for Primoris Renewables.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with other BU/Segment HSE Directors, Develop and administer segment accident, loss prevention and environmental programs and provide programs and guidance to Business Unit’s in to meet Segment HSE goals. Coordinate with operations management. Assist Regional Safety Managers development of specific safety and environmental programs and procedures to meet their safety and environmental responsibilities and requirements with our proposed clients. Provide direction in interpreting and implementing safety policies and procedures, and in matters relating to loss prevention techniques and standards compliance. Evaluate, develop, and manage efforts to mediate safety and environmental concerns/issues, e.g., accidents, agency inspections, client requests, etc., to ensure appropriate response. Ensure that management receives timely and concise notification of incidents and provide follow-up information until the issue is satisfactorily resolved. Assist and ensure that all operations leadership within the oversite of this scope understand their safety responsibilities and accountability for safety and environmental performance. Communicate with their personnel and hold them accountable for the consistent administration and enforcement of company policies and procedures to meet segment safety and cost of insurance goals. Ensure that formal incident review meetings are held, that critical issues are properly resolved and that appropriate action plans are developed and participate in any of these activities as necessary. Direct and/or assist with the required documentation and maintenance of information and see that the required reports are completed in a timely and concise manner. Direct and coordinate the preparation of routine safety performance reports, review accident performance and trends, and assist operations in implementing appropriate corrective action plans. Support the corporate drug and alcohol policy, including coordination of random testing, substance abuse awareness training, and overseeing test result confidentiality with our HR Department. Develop and monitor the effectiveness of various safety and environmental training and education programs and assist in conducting such programs as required. Coordinate with and assist the Claims Manager and/or company insurance carrier in obtaining specific information as requested. Lead/Develop the Regional Safety Mangers of the Business Segment’s HSE Department to ensure safety personnel requirements are met; also coordinate the career development and performance reviews of the assigned Regional Safety Managers personnel. Perform additional duties as requested by Vice President of HSE.

PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field. (Preferred) Hold a valid Certified Safety Professional designation issued by the BCSP (or equivalent certification/Experience). Minimum of 10 years progressive safety management experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience with a large construction company in the industrial market. Ability to prioritize high volume workload to meet tight and changing deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital. Strong organization skills. High level of integrity and professionalism required. Must be a team player able to work with co-workers, different departments and outside contacts and maintain strong relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills essential to convey contract-related information or regulatory requirements to stakeholders. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. Must possess or can obtain a passport to permit travel to/from US and Canada Travel is required – approximately 50%.
