UGLs Manufacturing Maintenance business are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join their high performing close-knit team, located at our Spotswood locomotive maintenance facility

About your role

Reporting to the Site Manager, the role of HSE Advisorwill support the site in the effective implementation of WHS, Rail Safety, Workers Compensation Injury Management, and Environmental (HSE) processes and systems to improve performance to meet our legal requirements and our standards.

As a member of the Leadership Team, your key responsibilities will include:

Actively implement, review and improve the HSSE management systemEnsure a safe working condition for all employees, contractors and visitorsProvide advice and coaching to Project Managers, Supervisors, and Construction Managers on project specific HSSE reporting analysis for client and management needsInspecting and auditing project compliance to HSSE system requirementsDesign and deploy safety culture change initiativesInvestigate worksite incidents and occurrences in accordance with our requirements and reporting matrix to manage corrective actions ensuring that identified incidents are addressed


About you

You will have experience in a similar HSE role, in Construction, Infrastructure or any high-risk industry.

To be successful in the role, you will also have the following skills experience:

Tertiary Qualifications in a Workplace Health Safety related disciplineIncident Investigation Trained (ICAM preferable)In depth knowledge of the WHS, Environment and Workers Compensation legislationsStrong communication consultative skills (oral written), including strong negotiation and influencing skills with internal external stakeholdersAbility and willingness to adapt, prioritise, quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technologyDemonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring teams
